First Post

Well, this is it. The first blog on our shiny new website. It symbolises the official beginning of our epic journey. A journey that is both exhilarating and absolutely terrifying at the same time.

When we tell people about the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge (“the worlds toughest row”) – they say “Wow, that looks incredible”, then we mention that “More people have gone into space or climbed Everest than have rowed the Atlantic” and they say “Amazing” then finally we tell them that we are taking part and they said “why?” and that’s the hardest question to answer. The automatic response is to say ”why not?”. However the main reason is to inspire people. Inspire people to challenge themselves and show that anything is possible, no matter their background or perceived capabilities. We believe that anyone can achieve the unthinkable. We hope to demonstrate this through our row, whilst raising money and exposure for our chosen charities.

Two Down. Two To Go

It has already taken us a couple of years to get to this point yet it only really starts now. We now only have 2 years to organise everything and we mean everything!

Although we are the guys doing the row, we will not be able to do it on our own. It’s going to take the help from everyone we know and more importantly, the people we don’t. As you can imagine, an undertaking of this magnitude not only takes a lot of time to organise but it also takes a lot of funding. That’s separate to our ambition to raise £100,000 for our chosen charities.

This is where we need your help. We will be doing our best to make sure that everyone is aware of what we are doing, if you could do the same, that would be awesome. Where you can, please share, like and retweet as much of our ongoings as possible – it will be greatly appreciated and make a massive difference. If you would like to speak to us regarding corporate sponsorship, you can contact us here.

Finally, we will try to keep our updates as fresh and as interesting as possible, after all, you’ll be seeing a lot of us over the next two years 😀

Thank you all very much

P.s. If you haven’t already seen it. Below is a short video about the race.
